Wayne Edwards

Wayne has been pastor of Midway since February, 2009.  His wife Patti is a teacher with the Meridian Public School District.  Wayne is a graduate of Mississippi College and New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary.  He previously served as the Associational Missions Director of Lauderdale Baptist Association for over 16 years, Minister of Education at First Baptist Church, Clinton, MS, and as pastor of several churches in Mississippi. 

Joseph Bird

Joseph is the newest addition to our staff. Joseph is a graduate of William Carey University. He has served at Midway since September of 2010. He serves as our Minister to Students which includes children, youth, and college aged students. He is currently pursuing a Master of Divinity from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. His fiance', Jennie, will join our family in July, 2011. We are excited to have Joseph working with our students.

Marsha Ramia & Joel Harrison

Marsha moved to Meridian with her family in 1981. Her parents sought God's leadership and they began serving the Lord at Midway Baptist at that time. Throughout her high school, college, and married life, she has served Midway in several capacities including Sunday School teacher, special needs teacher, handbell player and director, children's choir director, Vacation Bible School teacher and director, and bible drills. She is currently serving as interim Minister of Music since the summer of 2009. She also works full-time for Meridian Public School District as an Instructional Coach at Northwest Middle School. She is married to Joe Ramia and has one son, Barrett Ramia.

Joel is a lifelong member of Midway Baptist Church. Joel continues to serve as a deacon and has had the opportunity to teach children and youth Sunday School over the years. He currently serves as interim minister of music, a position he has held since 2009. Through this position, he works with children's choir, student choir, worship choir, and the Fellowship Choir (senior adults). He also works as a clinic manager for Specialty Hospital of Meridian. Joel is married to Pam and they have one son, Luke. He is an award winning barbecue pit master and loves to share his love for cooking with friends and family.

 

Hope Smith

Hope is a native of Demopolis AL. For thirteen years she was a stay at home mom and home schooled her children for some of that time. She and her husband Wayne Smith have been married for 21 years and she has served along side him in his ministry of 20 years. They have two children Katie and Josh who are both attending college. Hope teaches children at her church and assists her husband who is currently Pastor at Fifteenth Avenue Baptist Church here in Meridian. Hope and Wayne are former members and Staff of Midway.
